On June 12, a unique open-air concert featuring American composer George Crumb’s masterpiece “Macrocosm” took place in a beautiful garden in Berlin. German pianist and founder of the Berlin Piano and Percussion Ensemble, Yiaou Xie, performed on a Kayserburg concert grand piano as part of the “Concert in the Wild” series, along with internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Jennifer Arnold, soprano Leah Gordon, renowned cellist Katharina Feltz and bassist Jesper Ulfenstedt, a member of the Komische Oper Berlin orchestra. Other pieces by classical composers of the Baroque, Classical, Neo-Romantic and contemporary periods completed the program.
