On the evening of November 9, the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center in Guangzhou witnessed the grand opening of the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China. The ceremony, themed “From Dream to Future,” captivated audiences with an impressive fusion of culture, sports, and cutting-edge technology. These were the first National Games to be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
The performance unfolded in three chapters – “Common Roots, Common Origin,” “Common Hearts, Common Connection,” and “Common Dreams, Common Fulfillment” – creatively blending athletic elements with artistic expression and high-tech innovation.
A standout highlight was the Pearl River Crystal Piano, which illuminated the scene with its sleek, crystal-clear design. Equipped with a sophisticated fiber-optic system, the piano changed colors in harmony with the music – at times shimmering like a sky full of stars, at others dancing like the northern lights. Its graceful melodies symbolized the deep connection between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, while showcasing the powerful integration of Chinese national brands and the dynamic spirit of the Greater Bay Area.
