AFTER SEVENTY YEARS, IT’S AS IF THE MUSIC IS JUST BEGINNING.
In 1956, a group of Chinese craftsmen gathered in a Guangzhou side street shed no larger than a single-car garage to pursue a dream. Their ambition was considered impossible: building a piano from scratch that would someday compete with the best in the world. By the end of the first year, these brave entrepreneurs had sold thirteen instruments, and Pearl River would soon become one of China’s first domestic piano manufacturers.
Today, the Pearl River Piano Group has grown to be the world’s largest piano manufacturer and one of the world’s largest musical instrument makers. Besides our 3.2 million-square-foot facility, where Pearl River, Ritmüller, and Kayserburg pianos are crafted, we have expanded into producing guitars, violins, drums, brass, and woodwinds. Seventy years later, Pearl River is still guided by the same belief that started it all: the next great instrument is always ahead of us.
