KEITH BURNS COMMEMORATES THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HIT SONG “POUR ME”

Keith Burns, founding member of the ACM Award-winning and Grammy-nominated group Trick Pony, marks the 25th anniversary of the trio’s breakout anthem, “Pour Me,” with a reimagined recording set for release on Friday, July 31, 2026

Pearl River proudly celebrates Keith Burns and his Pearl River guitar as he commemorates the 25th anniversary of “Pour Me.”

Originally released in 2001, “Pour Me” spent 28 weeks on the charts and helped establish Trick Pony’s signature blend of gritty harmonies, country-rock energy and high-octane performances. The song was written by Burns, Heidi Newfield, Ira Dean, Sam E. and Rory Waters Beighley.

Recorded at Curb Studios and produced by Ray Termini, Burns’ 2026 rendition will be released on White Mustang Records, founded by music industry veteran James Stroud.

The new version keeps the fan-favorite’s traditional country spirit intact, pairing clear storytelling with fiddle, rockabilly guitar, keys and organ highlights.

“This version of ‘Pour Me’ respects instrumental tradition of legendary country music and the soul and energy of the original recording,” Burns said. “Ray and I worked to stay true to the sound that brought us to the dance. I think both loyal listeners and a new generation of honky-tonkers will dig it. We, as a group, broke the mold and this is a celebration of a really good run amongst a group of talented young hopefuls.”

“For the new listeners, the storyline portrays a tongue-in-cheek narrative, drowning sorrows with each pour…“ Burns added. “‘Pour Me’ is a play on words, referring to both pouring a shot and seeking comfort in the bottom of a glass, and the emotional outpour of broken-hearted feelings. We hope y’all will put this one on ‘repeat’ for ‘another pour’.”
